Peruvian Canadar is the proven son of the world famous Hemingway who imprinted his trademark for fineness on his prodigal son. Canadar’s fleece measured 17.6 microns in 1997 and at eight years of age remained under 21 microns at 20.18 in 2009! But Canadar’s claim to fame will be his progeny who are fine, bright examples of huacaya excellence with their high style, crimpy fleece. His combination of great phenotype, superior genetics, and shocking fleece statistics will undoubtedly carry on his sire’s legacy.

Canadar’s sire is Peruvian Hemingway who has made a profound impact upon improving the overall quality of the alpaca herd in the World . Hemingway arrived in the U.S. as a three year old in the 1993 Peruvian importation out of the Royal Allianza herd in Peru, and was selected by and reserved for Roger Haldane of Australia. Roger was extremely impressed with the quality of Hemingway's fleece and was convinced that Hemingway had the potential to impart his fine, lustrous fleece to his progeny. At fourteen years of age, Hemingway still had a 23 micron fleece. Canadar’s dam is PPPeruvian Precious 5015, who’s known for her fineness as well!
